When you arrive at the lake, it is necessary to notify its fishguard service (i. e. the hosts). If you’ve made a reservation, they will direct you to your fishing position, and in case you do not have a reservation, they will show you the potentially good spots that are currently available.
You may make your reservation by calling the number 00387 65 898 846 or through our website. The desired position can be reserved for 3 days minimum, i. e. 72 hours or 3 daily licences. All fishermen who want to fish for less than three days may use the positions that are available at the moment of their arrival to the lake. The positions containing bungalows can be rented only if they are to be used, and for at least 48 hours (a minimum of two nights and 3 daily licences).
Payment is to be made in advance for all reservations. If the fisherman leaves their position before their reservation has ended, they will not be able to get a refund for the remainder of the reservation.
A maximum of three fishing rods can be used for fishing on lake Žabar. It is not possible to make an additional payment for a fourth rod. The nylon is to be at least 0.31 mm wide. It is mandatory to disinfect the landing nets before the fishing begins (because of the Koi virus). In case a new team is coming to fish at the same position, the handover takes place at 9 a.m.
Leaving the lake to purchase supplies, food, drink, etc. is allowed every day from 8 to 10 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. The gates at the lake are locked at all other times.
It is forbidden to drive around outside of these time periods. The reception building must be reached on foot or by bicycle at all other times (e.g. to take a shower). Supplementing the fish food (corn, boilies, pellets, etc.) is conducted at the same time as the purchase of supplies. The fishguard service is not obligated to provide the food for the fish.
Starting from 2017 season, we have established regular feedings of the fish. An atropa has been set on each position, so that fish can be fed regardless of the presence of fishermen.
This is performed by the fishguard service at the following times:
Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m.
Thursday from 8 to 10 a.m.
These feedings are very important because the fish require a great quantity of food. In our experience, the fishermen don’t provide the fish with enough food and this is why we’ve decided to introduce this measure.
